The Gauntlet: Alkaline

Alkaline Bio

Alkaline   Band Members

steve ledesma - vocals

jay fredrick - guitar

jim mcafee - bass

john bermudez - drums

Subgenres:

This machine was assembled in the summer of 1999 with a driven, honest approach to making music. Steve Ledesma - vocals, Jay Fredrick - guitar, Jim McAfee - bass, and John Bermudez on drums set up shop in Ventura, California and have been wrecking stages and audiences up and down the coast ever since. Alkaline boasts a sickening rhythm section, dynamic guitar playing, and driving vocals. This band has tapped into a new vein, one that flows with fresh blood and energy. Unlike the mass infestation of rap-metal coattail riders of late, you will be unable to compare this band to any other group. Alkaline's live shows are not just a show, they're an event. No DJ's, no mask's, instead, this unit focus' on pumping out quality music rather than trying to be a manufactured product. With so many generic bands regurgitating the same old sound, it's time for the industry to get back to producing good bands, not one-off's and carbon copies. Alkaline was chosen out of thousands of other contenders to play their hometown stop of the Vans Warped Tour in the summer of 2000. And now, a new, four song disk is getting local air play and creating a deafening buzz in the streets. This recording has captured the energy of the band's live performance and their sense of originality.
